The STA450A Articulated Anode Rod (Φ22 × 450 mm) is a sacrificial protector designed to extend the life of your water heater tank. By attracting corrosive elements in the water through an electrochemical process, the rod corrodes instead of the tank, preventing rust, leaks, and costly replacements. Made with a 304 stainless steel ¾-inch plug and internal stainless steel filling, this rod offers strength, durability, and easy installation in a wide range of water heating systems.
How It Works
- Electrochemical Process: The steel water heater tank is less active than the anode rod. The rod (made from active metals) corrodes first, protecting the tank.
- Attracts Corrosive Elements: Minerals and ions in the water bond to the anode, sparing the tank.
- Sacrificial Corrosion: The rod oxidizes and deteriorates over time, distributing electrons and preventing tank corrosion.
- Tank Protection: This process extends the service life of your water heater.
When to Replace It
- Inspection Interval: Check every 1–3 years.
- Replacement Trigger: Replace when over 50% consumed.
- Signs of Wear: Rotten egg smell (sulfur/hydrogen sulfide) or discolored water indicates the rod is no longer effective.
- Sacrificial protection, corrodes in place of your water heater tank, significantly extending its lifespan.
- Dimensions: Φ22 × 450 mm, compact articulated design for easy installation.
- ¾-inch 304 stainless steel plug for a durable, corrosion-resistant connection.
- Electrochemical protection that attracts corrosive ions to help prevent tank rust and leaks.
- Internal stainless steel filling for structural strength.
- Suitable for residential and commercial hot water cylinders.
